Sustainability Webinars This Week

The UMBC Office of Sustainability is hosting two webinars this week that are open to all UMBC students and faculty members!
The first webinar on October 14th from 6pm-7pm with Emily Frias from the Chesapeake Climate Action Network (CCAN). She is a UMBC alumni and the grassroots community organizer for CCAN's clean energy legislation in Maryland. She will be talking about her work at CCAN, their COVID operations, and some internship/leadership training opportunities for students.
The second is on October 15th from 3:30-4:30 PM with Tim Demers for the New York Department of Environmental Conservation. He is a wildlife technician and bird ecologist, so the conversation will be more focused around biological conservation.
